Vintage South American Gaucho Horse Whip or Rebenque - w1577 medieval A small hand forged steelThis old whip has a dark hardwood handle with turned decoration. It has a silver coloured metal cap and two collars these are stamped with a possible hallmark or maker's stamp which I cannot read please look at the images. There is a chain on the top of the cap for hanging the whip from the saddle or a belt. At the other end of the whip there is a thick leather or hide section. The first part is rolled (rather like a sjambok) the lower part is flat
